I’ve lived in Henley-on-Thames for over 20 years, having moved here from
London and before that from Oxford where I studied architecture.
My home and practice is based in the heart of town, as are many of my projects.
This has given me a unique insight into what is behind the facades, above the
eye-line, in the past and the emerging future.
I’ve had a life long passion for architecture, its history, how it sits in the built
environment and broader landscape, how it relates to social and economic
change and how it must respond to the needs of our children.
Henley being such a special town, needs treating with the greatest care and
respect.
Although new to local politics, I find myself highly motivated in light of the
proposed Premier Inn in the station car park. Yes the town needs social and
economic growth and yes it needs more hotel accommodation, but not that one
and not on that site.
I wish to bring my 40 years breath of architectural experience to the town
council, so as to be able help make sure that development is respectful and
appropriate.
My aims are to:-
Ensure we maintain a high standard of sustainable, socially and economically
appropriate development .
Seek ways to resolve traffic issues.
Reduce parking pressures within the town.
